Meet Amy

Amy is a vibrant light and fun personality starting with us here at MTS! She is going to be working as a Group Fitness Instructor primarily at the Dulles and Townhouse locations. Join us in welcoming her to our team and make sure to check out her classes!

- Please keep conversations during all group exercise classes to a minimum!
- Please remember to sign up for classes and to cancel the class reservations if you are not able to attend!
-Please dry off before exiting the pool area and either entering the locker rooms or exiting the building!

oppurtunity to Bring a Friend
January 12th-24th
MTS Wellness wants to offer a chance for your friends and family to come try out our gyms and group exercise classes for FREE! From January 12th through the 24th YOU as a member will be able to bring ONE guest with you each day for the duration of the two weeks. Your friend can come as many times as they like during that time but only once per day and they must be accompanied by a current member at all times. Both classes and gym passes will be available to their use. All guests accompanied by a member must stop by the wellness desk and fill out the waiver and health history form prior to starting exercise.
If you and your guest would like to attend a class together, we do ask that you provide us with adequate notice so that we can make sure there is appropriate availability in the class. Classes fill up quick! We do ask that a guest only attend one class type per week during this time, allowing all guests to try out the various classes that MTS offers. (Example: You may only attend strength and balance once per week during this opportunity with a guest.)

Now, there is a reward available for our current members! If a guest decides that after trying our facilities that they would like join as a member, and they join BEFORE February 1st, the member who referred them will receive the month of February for free! If your friend joins as a member on or after February 1st the reward will not be available but at least you get to hang out with your buddy at the gym!

Let's talk dessert!
The best thing about the holiday season is the many candies and sweet treats that circulate around. Whether it’s at work, home, or a family members house, it seems like sweets are always present and available this time of year. To finish up our holiday recipe series we are getting into healthy desserts. A dessert doesn’t need to be full of sugar and make you feel bad about yourself to be delicious! As we have learned with most cooking, a simple swap or addition of ingredients can make a hug difference in the quality of the dessert. Adding fiber to a simple muffin or dessert bar recipe can be easy and delicious just by adding oats, organic psyllium husk, or chia seeds. Adding fiber helps with feeling of fullness and supports gut health. You can also try using fruits for a more flavorful sweetened taste when making your desserts. Or if a recipe calls for honey or sugar for sweetness, in most cases you can try slightly reducing the amount of sugar added. At the end of the day though, the most important rule with sweet treats is that you must not stress about them! It is okay to have a dessert occasionally in moderation. They taste great and are not worth beating yourself up about. Just pay attention to portion size and notice how you feel when you start to get full. If you get halfway through a piece of cake and you are feeling full, don’t feel like you need to force yourself to finish it. Set it to the side for later and be okay with not finishing it right now. Don’t over complicate desserts and treats, there is enough that feels complicated this time of year!

MTS Wellness is hiring for PRN instructors, if you know someone interested in joining our team, please have them send their resume to wellness@mtspts.com. We are in need of aerobics instructors, cycling instructors, yoga instructors and more!
We are excited to bring on new members on our Wellness Team! Over the next few weeks you will start to see new faces shadowing current instructors in class and eventually teaching some classes. We thank you for your patience as we go through a new transition.
Virtual Memberships and Virtual Add-on Service

MTS offers a virtual wellness membership for $22 + tax per month.
This includes access to all of our live scheduled virtual classes and our video library, which allows you to participate in your favorite MTS classes on your own time. All you need is a smart phone, tablet or computer to get set up and started today!
We also offer a virtual add-on service for only $11.99 + tax per month added to your regular membership. With this add-on service you will have it all! It allows for you to come in house to use equipment AND have access to classes using our virtual platform.
