What First Attracted Clark to Physical Therapy?
What attracted me to the profession of Physical Therapy was: being younger in my studies, I always enjoyed studying the sciences, like biology. I always liked studying about exercise and how the body moved.
I was able to observe as a volunteer at a local hospital.
When I got there I was really inspired to see what the Physical Therapists were doing. They were working with patients, bringing them through movement patterns with exercise, to improve their quality of movement, their function in life.
And I REALLY got excited when I saw that, and I said, “Boy, this is what I want to do for the rest of my career.”
Why Physical Therapy?
I am a people person, I love being one-on-one with my patients. And seeing them move; and with exercise, get better.
Its a very rewarding thing to see the patient get better right in front of your very eyes."
HOw Did Clark's Dream Become a Reality?
My wife, Yvette, she was with me when I was going through Physical Therapy school. I have no doubt me studying and doing well in school came from the support she gave me early on in those years.
And shes continued supporting me in my career, and sacrifice that comes with the time to manage my practice and to continue to study and learn. To be the best I can be."
Why Does Clark Love Physical Therapy?
I’ve been a Physical Therapist for 30 years now, and I always feel like I have the best job in the world.
I really enjoy coming to work every day as a leader, working on ideas and strategies that improves our practice, and helps provide the best atmosphere for our patients and wellness members."
I especially enjoy my one-on-one involvement with my patients and my wellness members. I find that when I’m together with my patient one-on-one, I forget about everything else.
I’m just in the zone and I really enjoy being able to listen to my patient, let them explain their needs, and what I can do to help them. And problem solve, and put them on a plan that helps get them better.
And I can see the rewards of them improving."
